Home/Materials/Recycled PET fabric, 600D
Recycled PET fabric, 600D
In the hand it is virgin 600D: same weight, same crispness, same body. Depth of colour comes from dyeing rather than from the bottle, unless the yarn is left undyed, and shade varies a little more from lot to lot than virgin polyester.
| Best for | Tote bags and promotional bags where recycled content is the reason for the order, pouches and GWP bags that need a woven face, and any style already running in virgin 600D that has to switch without a new pattern. |
|---|---|
| Limits | Recycled content changes the feedstock, not the end of life: this is still polyester, and it is not biodegradable or home-recyclable as a bag. The recycled claim rests entirely on the yarn mill's transaction certificate for that lot, so the paperwork has to travel with the order — without it we describe the material as polyester and nothing more. Batch-to-batch colour is looser than virgin, and printing needs the same surface pre-treatment as virgin polyester or the ink will not hold on a fold. |
Woven 600D polyester made from recycled PET bottle feedstock, in the same construction as virgin 600D — so the bag does not have to change pattern to carry a recycled story.
