Home/Materials/Cork fabric, 0.55 mm
Cork fabric, 0.55 mm
Warm, matte and faintly springy, with a grain that varies along the sheet — no two panels match exactly, which is either the appeal or the problem depending on the brand. It smells faintly of cork, and it warms to the hand.
| Best for | Small pouches and cases where the material itself is the design, logo patches, tags, and products sold on a natural-material story. |
|---|---|
| Limits | It is a laminate: cork veneer on a textile backing, so the back of the material is not cork and a cut edge exposes the backing unless it is bound. Corners crack if folded sharply, so a case needs a radius or a skived fold. Abrasion shows first at the edges and the zip line. Printing is not available — decoration is embossing, a stitched patch or a woven label. |
Cork veneer at 0.55 mm laminated to a textile backing — the warm, matte, plant-derived surface used for small leathergoods-style pouches and logo patches.

Pineapple-leaf fibre sheet, 0.7 mm
A stiff, textured plant-fibre sheet for small panels, with a short colour range and no tight curves.
Apple-waste fibre sheet, 0.8 mm
Supple and matte like a fine PU, but a composite — so the bio content is a share…
Lyocell fabric, 170 gsm
Drapey, cool and printable, weaker when wet and creases badly — a material for pouches, not for structure.
